Why must we be SANCTIFIED?

 Psalm 51:10

King James Version

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God;

and renew a right spirit within me.

Why must we be holy?

Why must we be pure?

Why must we be sanctified?

Scripture tells us more:

Only GOD is GOOD.

Mark 10:18

King James Version

18 And Jesus said unto him,

Why callest thou me good?

there is none good but one,

that is, God.

All of us have sinned.

Romans 3:23

King James Version

23 For all have sinned,

and come short of the glory of God;

It was a command from GOD.

Leviticus 19:2

King James Version

2 Speak unto all the congregation

of the children of Israel,

and say unto them,

Ye shall be holy:

for I the Lord your God am holy.

It's a command from JESUS.

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father which is in heaven

is perfect.

GOD needs to teach sinners His way.

Psalm 25:8

King James Version

8 Good and upright is the Lord:

therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

It shows our fear of GOD.

2 Corinthians 7:1

King James Version

7 Having therefore these promises,

dearly beloved,

let us cleanse ourselves

from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,

perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We want to be useful to the LORD.

2 Timothy 2:21

King James Version

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these,

he shall be a vessel unto honour,

sanctified,

and meet for the master's use,

and prepared unto every good work.

We want to be blameless when JESUS returns.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

King James Version

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;

and I pray God your whole spirit

and soul and body be preserved blameless

unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are grateful to JESUS, for the sacrifice of His life, that we may be saved.

Galatians 2:20

King James Version

20 I am crucified with Christ:

nevertheless I live;

yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:

and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God,

who loved me,

and gave himself for me.

It is the will of GOD.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

King James Version

3 For this is the will of God,

even your sanctification,

that ye should abstain from fornication:

4 That every one of you should know

how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

We want to be FREE of sin.

Romans 6:6

King James Version

6 Knowing this,

that our old man is crucified with him,

that the body of sin might be destroyed,

that henceforth we should not serve sin.

That we may be forgiven, and start walking with GOD.

Acts 26:18

King James Version

18 To open their eyes,

and to turn them from darkness to light,

and from the power of Satan unto God,

that they may receive forgiveness of sins,

and inheritance among them

which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

That we may see the LORD.

Hebrews 12:14

King James Version

14 Follow peace with all men,

and holiness,

without which no man shall see the Lord:

That we may be FREE of sin, and death.

Romans 8:1-2

King James Version

8 There is therefore now no condemnation

to them which are in Christ Jesus,

who walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus

hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Because we are ashamed to remain in sin.

Romans 6:2

King James Version

2 God forbid.

How shall we,

that are dead to sin,

live any longer therein?

That we may be acceptable to GOD.

Romans 12:1

King James Version

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God,

that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,

holy,

acceptable unto God,

which is your reasonable service.

To show true righteousness.

Ephesians 4:22-24

King James Version

22 That ye put off

concerning the former conversation the old man,

which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man,

which after God

is created in righteousness and true holiness.

That we may be sealed by the SPIRIT of GOD.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

King James Version

21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ,

and hath anointed us,

is God;

22 Who hath also sealed us,

and given the earnest of the Spirit

in our hearts.

To have our inheritance with GOD.

Acts 20:32

King James Version

32 And now, brethren,

I commend you to God,

and to the word of his grace,

which is able to build you up,

and to give you an inheritance among all them

which are sanctified.

That it may please the LORD.

Hebrews 13:21

King James Version

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will,

working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight,

through Jesus Christ;

to whom be glory for ever and ever.

Amen.

That we may conform to the image of CHRIST.

Romans 8:29-30

King James Version

29 For whom he did foreknow,

he also did predestinate to be conformed

to the image of his Son,

that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate,

them he also called:

and whom he called, them he also justified:

and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

That we may have peace with GOD, through JESUS.

Romans 5:1

King James Version

5 Therefore being justified by faith,

we have peace with God

through our Lord Jesus Christ:

That we may be perfect, as CHRIST is.

Ephesians 4:12-13

King James Version

12 For the perfecting of the saints,

for the work of the ministry,

for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith,

and of the knowledge of the Son of God,

unto a perfect man,

unto the measure of the stature

of the fulness of Christ:

To receive no condemnation.

Romans 8:1

King James Version

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them

which are in Christ Jesus,

who walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

That the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us.

Romans 8:4-5

King James Version

4 That the righteousness of the law

might be fulfilled in us,

who walk not after the flesh,

but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh

do mind the things of the flesh;

but they that are after the Spirit

the things of the Spirit.

To have life, and peace.

Romans 8:6

King James Version

6 For to be carnally minded is death;

but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

That we may be resurrected, too.

Romans 8:11

King James Version

11 But if the Spirit of him

that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,

he that raised up Christ from the dead

shall also quicken your mortal bodies

by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Because it was our holy heritage, right from the start.

Ephesians 1:4

King James Version

4 According as he hath chosen us in him

before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy

and without blame before him in love:

Lastly, how are we to be sanctified?

Ephesians 5:26-27

King James Version

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it

with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church,

not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing;

but that it should be holy and without blemish.

We see that through GOD's WORD we are sanctified.

We see that there are many reasons to be sanctified.

There is no more excuse to keep sinning.

Only more reasons to be sanctified now.

But who sanctifies us?

You'll know, in the next post.
