Why GOD wants us SANCTIFIED

 John 17:17

King James Version

17 Sanctify them through thy truth:

thy word is truth.

Why does GOD want us sanctified?

What is His purpose?

The Bible explains it beautifully.

That we may know He is LORD.

Exodus 31:12-13

King James Version

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

That sin may be destroyed.

Romans 6:6

King James Version

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

That we may be free from sin.

Romans 6:18

King James Version

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

That we be made holy, and have eternal life, through JESUS.

Romans 6:22-23

King James Version

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

That we may heed the call to "be saints".

1 Corinthians 1:1-2

King James Version

1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

That we may be a "new creature" in CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:17

King James Version

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

That we may be reconciled with GOD.

2 Corinthians 5:18

King James Version

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

That we may have the righteousness of CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

King James Version

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

That we may perfect holiness, in the "fear of God".

2 Corinthians 7:1

King James Version

7 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

That we may be "holy", because GOD chose us in Him.

Ephesians 1:4

King James Version

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

That we may be like the saints.

Colossians 1:12-14

King James Version

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

That we may adhere to GOD's will.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

King James Version

3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

That we would be blameless when JESUS returns.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

King James Version

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

That we may be true to GOD's choosing us, to be sanctified by SPIRIT.

2 Thessalonians 2:13

King James Version

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

That we may be a "vessel unto honor", ready to be used by GOD.

2 Timothy 2:20-21

King James Version

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

That we may be free from the "snare of the devil".

2 Timothy 2:26

King James Version

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

That we might be "partakers" of GOD's holiness.

Hebrews 12:10

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

That we may be made "perfect", to do the will of the FATHER.

Hebrews 13:20-21

King James Version

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

That we may claim our "interitance", "reserved in heaven" for us.

1 Peter 1:3-5

King James Version

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

That we may praise GOD, in light.

1 Peter 2:9

King James Version

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

That we may live "unto righteousness".

1 Peter 2:24

King James Version

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

That we may heed the call for "glory and virtue".

2 Peter 1:2-3

King James Version

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

That we may be "partakers" of GOD's divine nature.

2 Peter 1:4

King James Version

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Do you have this hunger to know more about GOD?

Then, perhaps, He predestined you for salvation.

SANCTIFICATION paradox

Isaiah 1:18

King James Version

18 Come now,

and let us reason together,

saith the Lord:

though your sins be as scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow;

though they be red like crimson,

they shall be as wool.

It truly is a paradox.

How the LORD's blood can cleanse and wash us from all sin.

Though our sins "be as scarlet", they shall be "as white as snow".

Though they be "red like crimson, they shall be "as wool".

Only through the blood of JESUS can we be cleansed from all sin, and unrighteousness.

 1 John 1:7

King James Version

7 But if we walk in the light,

as he is in the light,

we have fellowship one with another,

and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son

cleanseth us from all sin.

Not through the blood of animal sacrifice:

Isaiah 1:11

King James Version

11 To what purpose

is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me?

saith the Lord:

I am full of the burnt offerings of rams,

and the fat of fed beasts;

and I delight not in the blood of bullocks,

or of lambs,

or of he goats.

Because our hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 1:15

King James Version

15 And when ye spread forth your hands,

I will hide mine eyes from you:

yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear:

your hands are full of blood.

In the end times, GOD's wrath will cause much blood to pour.

Revelation 14:18-20

King James Version

18 And another angel came out from the altar,

which had power over fire;

and cried with a loud cry

to him that had the sharp sickle, saying,

Thrust in thy sharp sickle,

and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth;

for her grapes are fully ripe.

19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth,

and gathered the vine of the earth,

and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

20 And the winepress was trodden without the city,

and blood came out of the winepress,

even unto the horse bridles,

by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

When JESUS returns, He shall be clothed this way:

Revelation 19:13

King James Version

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:

and his name is called The Word of God.

His armies will be in white.

Revelation 19:13-16

King James Version

14 And the armies which were in heaven

followed him upon white horses,

clothed in fine linen,

white and clean.

He shall have a sword to "smite the nations", causing more blood to pour.

Revelation 19:13-16

King James Version

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword,

that with it he should smite the nations:

and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:

and he treadeth the winepress

of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh

a name written,

King Of Kings,

And Lord Of Lords.

It's really time to turn away from our sins now.

For the day is at hand.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled,

and the kingdom of God is at hand:

repent ye, and believe the gospel.

From a previous post, we know we need to be sanctified.

But do you also know why GOD wants us sanctified?

Know, on the next post.
